Nancy Przybylko, Operations Manager
Operations Manager Nancy Przybylko brings a variety of talent to the position. Moving to New Bern with her husband Steve in 2004, she has worked in an assortment of venues including heavy industrial to large and small non-profits. She has a total of over 40 years of accounting experience as well as office and facility management. Earning her C.P.A. certification in 1995, she continues to strive for excellence. Judi Dorn, Receptionist
Judi, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, and her husband Bill, a native of Milltown, NJ, moved to New Bern from Hasbrouck Heights, NJ in August, 2004. Judi has been an elementary school teacher. She retired from the retail world in 2008 after 34 years. Judi and Bill were very active members of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, in Maywood, NJ. Judi has been Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Vestry member, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, Altar Guild Director, choir member and Youth Advisor during her 22 years at St. Martin’s. Judi enjoys cooking, hand stamping, reading and knitting, but most especially working at Christ Church.. David Leahey, Director of Music
David began his musical career as a chorister at Liverpool Cathedral, England. During that time he gained a wonderful choral education, participating in services for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, HRH Princess Diana and Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher and John Major. David also toured Spain and Japan alongside Paul McCartney performing McCartney’s ‘Liverpool Oratorio’. While still a teenager he became organist for a number of churches in Liverpool and its surrounding area. At age sixteen he was appointed as Organ Scholar at Liverpool Cathedral under the tutelage of the world‐renowned Professor Doctor Ian Tracey, and in this capacity he accompanied and conducted services and assisted in the training of probationer choristers. In 1997 he followed in the footsteps of Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Herbert Howells, and was awarded a scholarship at the Royal College of Music in London, England, before returning to Liverpool to study for a bachelor of honours degree in Music and Information Technology. Since August 2003, David has been the Director of Music at two high profile churches in the DC Metro area and he has recently been appointed as Director of Music at Christ Church, New Bern. During his time in the USA he has worked with George Mason University and demonstrated his excellent repertoire by performing recitals at the White House, the Blair House and Washington’s National Cathedral.
Ashley Simpson, Director of Children’s & Youth Ministries
Ashley Simpson grew up in the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina as a member of St. Luke’s/St. Anne’s in Roper, NC. Growing up, she was involved in youth events throughout the Diocese. She attended Diocesan Convention as a Youth Representative, was the Rector of Happening #55, and attended Camp Trinity, where she also served on staff for the summers of 2010 and 2013. She attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she earned her B.S. in Marine Biology. In college, she was a member of the Episcopal Campus Ministry Advisory Board and continued to be involved in the Happening Community. After graduation, she spent the 2014-2015 school year teaching Environmental Education at Trinity Center’s Sound to Sea program. While there, she also served as the Part-Time Youth Director at St. Paul’s in Beaufort, NC. While at St. Paul’s, she coordinated weekly EYC programs, taught Middle School Sunday School, and also coordinated Mission Trips to both Washington, DC and Glory Ridge in Marshall, NC. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Belle.
