Debbie Fodrie grew up in New Bern as a member of Christ Church. She and her husband Tim were married in Christ Church and their three sons, Derick, Austin, and Taylor also grew up as members of the church. Debbie attended St. Mary’s High School and Jr. College in Raleigh, NC, and then went on to get her BS degree in Early Childhood Education and Reading K-12 from East Carolina University. She taught for 29 years in Craven County Schools, and after retiring she was hired as a PreK teacher and director at New Bern Cooperative Preschool. She was hired as director of the Growing In Grace after-school program in 2016 when the program began and loves working with the many volunteers from Christ Church and the New Bern community that make this wonderful program work. She brings her love of children and her passion for teaching to this position. Debbie enjoys spending her free time with Tim at their camper in Stella, NC.
