Summer EYC Schedule
We’ll announce our summer gatherings soon! They’re going to be fun and distant.
The EYC takes various trips throughout the year including special EYC events, a mission trip in the summer, as well as other retreats hosted by the Diocese of East Carolina. Previous trips have been to Glory Ridge and Washington DC.
EYC meets for special events during June, July and August.
“Sunday’s Cool”
Class is offered in the Youth Room on the 2nd Floor of the Sunday School Wing for 6th-12th graders. The youth will meet to talk about people in the Bible that were called by God to share the Good News. The Spring semester will talk about people from the New Testament. The class will be more discussion based and will also try to connect these biblical people to life in 2020. Join us at 10 am!
Camp Trinity
Camp Trinity is the Episcopal Camp of the Diocese of East Carolina. Many members of our parish have not only attended camp as campers there, but have also worked on staff. There are week long sessions available for rising 3rd-12th Graders. There are scholarships available. To learn more about Camp Trinity, Click here.
Serving at Worship
Acolytes
The Acolyte Guild at Christ Church has a long rich history of service and of learning. Most importantly, our acolytes play a vital role in helping ensure that our worship services run smoothly.
By playing an active role in worship services, our youth learn how we celebrate our faith throughout the liturgical year. By serving at baptisms, confirmation, weddings and funerals, they learn how we care for the faithful through our Christian sacraments. In the process, they learn both responsibility and leadership skills that help prepare them for the roles they will play as leaders of the church in adulthood.
Lectors & Eucharistic Ministers
Young people are invited to be in the regular rotation of lectors and Eucharistic Ministers (16 & up) for any of our worship services. We ask all lectors to go through a brief training and orientation.
Sound Techs
Young people, age 12 and older, who have an interest in learning about operating the church’s sound board and other sound systems, run the soundboard during the Sunday and special services are invited to be a Sound Tech. They are scheduled for Sunday services and volunteer for special services. If you are interested in serving in this capacity, contact Jackie McDaniel.
