We are approaching that time of year when we celebrate all of God’s blessings as we kick off our annual giving campaign. In past years, we have had some fabulous fun and wonderful gatherings on our church grounds as we lifted up the many ministry opportunities provided through Christ Church. We thank you all for your participation and support of those ministries and look forward to working together as we continue serving God’s people.
Our celebration this year will look quite different because of the current pandemic and restrictions on large group gatherings. These restrictions have created new challenges, not only for our annual giving kickoff celebration but also for our weekly worship and daily life as a parish.
Our staff has done a great job keeping us connected throughout these challenging times. These efforts, which take a lot of time, resources, and creativity, have provided us with worship and learning opportunities with a goal of keeping everyone safe. In keeping with that goal, our celebration plans on August 30 will be modified. We will NOT have the ice cream social that was originally announced. However, we will have something awesome in its place. Worship with us on August 30 and experience the surprise we have in store.
Our financial goal for this coming year is to increase our giving by 3 percent. We understand some members have been hit hard by this pandemic and are struggling. For some, maintaining current giving levels might be a challenge and may not even be possible. It is our hope that those who have fared better can reach into their hearts and help with the difference.
Please pray about your response. It is a way of thanking God for all our blessings. It is a way to continue the ministries of Christ Church, a giving church in a community in need.
